BANGKOK – The Bangkok North Municipal Court has sentenced Phanuwat Singsahut, 26, a motorcycle taxi driver to 18 months in prison, after he was found guilty of brutal torture and killing of nine cats.
He was arrested by police in July this year after the “Watchdog Thailand” Facebook page posted complaints by animal lovers that the cats under his care were tortured and killed.
Investigation by police led to his apartment on Soi Mahatthai 13 in Wang Thonglang district where carcasses of the cats were dumped in the apartment’s bin.
Phanuwat pleaded guilty to the charge, saying he sought the cats for raise from a poster on “Homeless Cat Helpers Club” Facebook page. http://www.chiang...rison.html
