Due to a rise in complaints of people using electric kick scooters in a dangerous way, the Patong Police in Phuket have issued a warning that they will prosecute anyone using the e-scooters on city streets if they are not registered with the Department of Land Transport.

The Patong Police ban on the use of e-scooters is a Catch-22 situation. They say if e-scooters are not registered with the DLT and don’t have a license plate or haven’t paid road tax, then they’re illegal. The DLT has said with current laws they are unable to register e-scooters.




På grund af en stigning i klager over folk, der bruger elektriske sparkløbehjul på en farlig måde, har Patong Politi på Phuket udsendt en advarsel om, at de vil retsforfølge alle, der bruger e-løbehjulene på byens gader, hvis de ikke er registreret hos Department landtransport.

Patong Politiets forbud mod brug af e-scootere er en Catch-22 situation. De siger, at hvis e-løbehjul ikke er registreret hos DLT og ikke har nummerplade eller ikke har betalt vejafgift, så er de ulovlige. DLT har sagt med de nuværende love, at de ikke er i stand til at registrere e-løbehjul.
