Celebrating Year of the Monkey
Thais of Chinese descent in Bangkok take part in various activities to mark the Lunar New Year. Some pray for good fortune, while others burn paper copies, which will be used by their dead relatives in the afterlife. This year's Chinese Lunar New Year, also called Spring Festival, falls on Feb 8, the first day of the Year of the Monkey.
