Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival is an ancient tradition held yearly at a park called Phaya Thaen in Yasothon Province. Giant homemade rockets of different styles and sizes are paraded before crowds, before rockets are subsequently launched as a gesture to God for a good rainy reason. There is also a competition to find the rocket that goes highest or furthest.
