A massive fire at a rubbish dump in Samut Prakan is creating toxic smoke, forcing people living in the area to evacuate and wear protective masks. The fire started on Sunday and continued to rage through Monday, when the area was declared a disaster zone. Images captured by Bangkok Post photographers including Somchai Poomlard, Pattanapong Hirunard, Thanarak Khoonton and Sithikorn Wongwudthianun.

The fire in the Samut Prakan landfill continues to release toxic gas into the atmosphere for a third day. People living near the burning garbage dump have been forced to take shelter outside the danger zone and showed impatience at getting back back to their normal lives.
